Hi, I'm Alfie and I've recently graduated with an Upper Second Class BA (Hons) in "The Art of Visual Effects" from Escape Studios - London.
I've created this website as a journal to reflect where I began my journey and to track my progress within the VFX world.
I first started off learning the Adobe software's (e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects) whilst studying at MidKent college. This prompted me to start an Instagram account called "theactualphotoshop", in which I posted photoshop edits I had made in college. This account was used as a way of gauging interest in certain edits for a specific module during my college course, however it became somewhere where I posted my progress and it's why you may see a watermark for "theactualphotoshop" on some of my work.
I started learning Autodesk Maya in November 2019 and since then, I've started to learn SideFx Houdini and Blender as well as Unreal Engine. I also use tutorials to help me learn but I like to tweak them where I can and use some of the other skills I've learnt through my time at college and Uni to make it my own.
I'm currently specialising within Houdini - specifically simulations, (Pyro, Flip Fluids, Vellum, RBD etc) but I'm still taking my time to learn other software's and develop my skills within other fields.
